What we collect, and what we don’t.
Plain language, no surprises. This is a small independent publishing brand, not an advertising business.

Who we are
Onward Honestly (“we,” “us”) is an independent publishing and reflection brand operated by Robert Nichols. You can reach us at REPLACE WITH YOUR CONTACT EMAIL with any question about this policy or about information we hold.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, The Honest Next Step, or request a free resource.
- Basic analytics about how the site is used — pages visited, approximate region, and how you arrived. This is aggregate information and is not used to identify you personally.
- Order information, if you purchase a digital product. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information — including health details, financial account numbers, or private information about other people. If you write to us about a difficult situation, please share only what you are comfortable having in an email inbox.
What we do with it
- Send you the resource you requested, and the weekly newsletter if you subscribed.
- Deliver and support any product you purchase.
- Understand, in aggregate, which writing is useful so we can make more of it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address. We do not share your information with advertisers.
Who processes your data
We use third-party services to run this site and our newsletter. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Substack — newsletter hosting and email delivery.
- Gumroad — digital product sales and delivery.
- Our website host and analytics provider — site delivery and aggregate usage statistics.
Update this list if you change any of these providers.
Cookies
This site uses only what is needed to function and to gather aggregate analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You do not need to give a reason.
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to delete it, and we will, except where we are required to keep purchase records.
Depending on where you live — including the EEA, the UK, and California — you may have additional rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use, and to object to processing. Write to us and we will honour those requests.
Children
This site and its resources are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the newsletter.
One more thing
Everything published by Onward Honestly — the books, the guides, the newsletter — is reflective support. It is not therapy, and it is not medical, legal, or financial advice. If you are in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services or a trusted crisis resource in your country.
